UPDATED: Receiver serial dates the gun to 1896, Barrel Patent dates up to 1911, indicate that this is a later model 90 replacement Barrel. Winchester model 1890 in .22 Short with a fifteen round tube magazine and a 24″ barrel made in 1896. The metal butt plate has heavy wear and patina. This rifle can be taken down for transport by a small thumb screw on the left of the receiver. Wood stock has hairline cracks on the butt and heavy scuffs and scratches throughout. Receiver has heavy finish wear. Octagon barrel with scuffs, scratches and dings. The bore is grainy and the action is smooth. Wood foregrip with heavy wear and a old large chip on the underside.
