Description U.S. Springfield model 1864 percussion rifle in .58 caliber. This rifle features a 40″, 3 banded barrel with fixed front blade and tangent rear sight adjustable to 3 elevations. The lock plate bears an eagle in the center and marked “U.S. / SPRINGFIELD” forward and “1864” rear of the cock. The one piece hardwood stock with steel butt plate has a hint of a cartouche on the left side forward of the wrist. Antique, ships directly to buyer.

Condition: Good showing signs of cleaning. The stock has been sanded but still shows a faint, illegible cartouche.
