Great example of a post civil war / Indian wars antique cap & ball revolver. US martial marking is present but faint. .44 cal., 6 shot, 8 in. octagon barrel, unfluted cylinder, blue finish, two-piece walnut grips, barrel address “Patented Sept. 14, 1858 – Manufactured by Remingtons’, Ilion, N.Y. – New Model.” Serial puts this gun in the early mid production period. Condition: Antique Fair. Bluing is over 30%. Cylinder does not rotate on cock. Cylinder aside, it is mechanically clean. Bore is surprisingly clean and sharp. CLASS: ANTIQUE NO FFL REQUIRED
