National Postal Meter model M1 US Carbine chambered in .30 Carbine. Visible markings include serial number 4344611, Buffalo Arm 18″ barrel dated 12-1943 with flaming bomb and light import mark on underside, front sight marked SI U, type 3 barrel band marked AI, adjustable stamped rear sight marked L.R. CO, type 4 mag catch with underscored M and “EW” marked push button safety and late round top bolt. The rifle appears to refinished in black oxide and the bolt looks parkerized. The stock appears to have also been refinished and is void of any markings with the exception of a 2 in a square at the bottom of the grip. The bore is bright with muzzle gauging at .303.
