Percussion muzzle loading pistol by Wadsworth of London in .50 caliber. Typical belly gun of the period for self defense this features a 5″ octagon rifled barrel on hardwood frame with checkered grip, silver metal thimble, trigger guard and grip bottom. There is a nicely fitted patch box in the bottom of the grip. The second item is a derringer with the maker unknown, probably Belgian based upon design. This pistol looks to be a .50 caliber smooth bore with a 3-1/2″ octagon barrel, some engraving on the sides and checkering on the grip. Antique
Condition: Wadsworth is Very Good original condition but missing the rod and thimble under the barrel. The action sticks and in current state will not fire. The bore is dark. The derringer is in Good condition and shows shrinkage of the wood but is solid. The hammer will not lock back and the bore is dark.
