Hammer fired breech loading double rifle by J. Aston. Appears to be English proofed. Adjustable front sight, five leaf rear express sights graduating from 100 to 500. 25 3/4″ Damascus barrels with sharp rifling and good bore for a turn of the century gun. Splinter forend and English stock made of nicely figured walnut. Under lever action with ornate grip tang. LOP to heel is 14 1/2″. Includes 20 pieces of brass, hard case, a handwritten loading recipe and some lead bullets. Antique, ships directly to buyers home.
Condition: Antique good. Bore has some crazing but all things considered would rate good. Rifling is sharp, action is tight and lock up is smooth. Mechanically very good. Wood has some shrinkage around the lock and hammers.
