Nice example of WWI German infantry rifle, the predecessor of the well known K98. This Gewehr 98 (Gew98) has seen battle with numerous scars on the wood. No major cracks, but it has repair marks. Metal components have been clear coated to preserve. Action is smooth. Bore is sharp and caked with grease. Includes muzzle cap and sawback bayonet (rare). Numbers are not matching, import marked.
