Colts PT F. A. MFG. CO. model 1878 in 12 gauge with a two shot capacity and a 30″ barrel, made in 1885. This side by side double barrel shotgun is in good overall condition for its age. The metal butt-plate is in fair condition with heavy finish wear, light scuffs and scratches. The hardwood stock is in good condition and free of cracks or chips, the finish has a white residue to it, possibly from improper cleaning. The wood fore end grip is in very good condition free of damage, with light handling wear throughout. The double trigger is in very good functioning condition with a nice patina. The double hammers are in very good functioning condition with light handling wear. The receiver is in very good condition with a nice patina and no deep scratches or scuffs. The barrel is in good condition with a large amount of the original finish worn off. Front brass bead sight in very good condition. Clean bores and tight action.
