Extraordinary English sidelock with masterful engravings and handmade precision crafting. This is an older model (Early 1900’s) that was sent back to London for refurbishing and proof testing on modern ammunition. Brass front bead atop 28″ solid ribbed barrels. Fully engraved sidelock receiver with nitre blue accents. 5 pheasants on left side, 2 on the underside, and 3 flushing dogs on the right. All surrounded with tightly engraved scroll. Breech block has deep relief engraving leading into a nicely blued lever. Splinter forend is also adorn nitre blued ejector pin, and push button release. Fancy walnut straight english stock with hand checkering at wrist. Monogram plate is blank. double triggers are protected with a blued trigger guard nicely engraved with two dogs. Exotic horn buttplate with checkering. Includes newer Charles Hellis hard case with fine accessories. *C&R Eligible Condition: Excellent as refurbished by skilled craftsman. Barrel is sleeved and pressure tested by the English. Bluing is 96+% with only light scratches and nicks. Some small splotches of bluing is stained on the left side by the breech but minor. Case coloring on frame is weak but pleasantly silvered in patina. Wood is excellent and free of cracks or repairs. Bores and function are excellent.
