Description Civil War era Martially Marked “Figure 8″ Trigger percussion revolver chambered in .36 with a 7” octagonal barrel. Cone Front sight, notch rear. Barrel Stamped H & C, Top of frame marked: Savage R.F.A. Middletown CT H.S. North Patented June 17th 1856, May 15th 1860. Left side frame stamped M, Right side U. Cylinder stamped C. Partially obscured four digit serial number 8869? under right grips, along with double M stamp under left grips. Obscured military inspection mark to left side grip. Condition: Antique Good+ with some areas of brown patina and smooth grey steel, along with patches of pitting. Nipples are rusted with losses, Appears complete with an old repair to the front sight. Cylinder chambers and bore are clear, but show pitting. Function is very good with the cylinder and hammer functioning as expected.
