Description U.S. Springfield model 1898 made in 1899 in .30-40 Krag with a five round internal magazine capacity with a 24″ barrel. This rifle has been Sporterized and the stock has been cut down. Missing the butt plate with cleaning kit door. Smooth wood stock and front forend. Blued guard, smooth trigger, bolt handle, magazine box and barrel. Right side of receiver loading gate. Rear bolt safety switch. Missing the front and rear sights. The receiver has been drilled and tapped for mounting a scope. Must ship to a C&R or FFL holder.
Condition: Good with scuffs, scratches, finish wear/loss and metal oxidation. Missing the butt plate and front barrel band. A wood fill in the butt stock where the eye stud once was for a shoulder sling. The rifled bore has a moderate grain to it with strong rifling.
