Springfield model 1884 trapdoor rifle chambered in .45-70. This features a 29-3/4″ barrel, Buffington rear sight, is marked “US MODEL 1884” on the trapdoor and “US SPRINGFIELD” with Eagle on the lock plate. Antique
Condition: The barrel has turned a brown patina. The trap door shows evidence of cleaning. The stock has been sanded and bears the markings “U.R.” in front of the trigger guard and “25” on the left rear of the stock. The bore is excellent.
