Description World War II United States Marine Chinese Embassy Presentation Dagger. Made in China for the US Marines Stationed at the Embassy between (1938-1941) which was around 100 personal. In May 1941 the Marines were withdrawn to the Philippines where they fought the Japanese until they surrendered in May of 1942. Subsequently sent on the Bataan Death March, few of these daggers survived these engagements. Features a dual edge Fuller blade, double quillon cross guard, celluloid covered wood grip with brass wire wrap. Enameled brass pommel cap and grip slats with Chinese Nationalist flag alongside the United States flag. Top of pommel has USMC insignia. Black lacquered wood scabbard with metal enameled accents of a Dragon and USMC Eagle Anchor and Globe. Blade measures 9.75″ with a total length outside the scabbard of 14.5″. No FFL required and ships to buyers home. Condition: Good/Very Good with scratches, finish wear/loss and handling wear. Pommel is a little loose possibly from shrinking wood over time.
