Originally built as host to the “Perfect” caliber that would eliminate the multiple .30 and .40 caliber rounds that existed in the day. The .348 WCF was an advanced design by Gerlich himself. Unfortunately due to the expensive cost of manufacturing it only had a 23 year run with about 50k being produced. This example has the classic two line Winchester name and address on the barrel, with the model and caliber to the left. Original Lyman sights. No safety on the lever or receiver. Nicely fitted walnut furniture. Original steel buttplate.
Good overall condition. Mechanically perfect and appears to be all original with no repairs or major flaws. THe wood and steel components show average wear for age with numerous scratches and wear. Bluing on barrel is very good to excellent. Bore and rifling are excellent. No pitting or rust
