Description Antique Winchester 1895 chambered in .38-72 W.C.F. with a four round fixed magazine capacity and a 26″ round barrel. Manufactured in New Haven Connecticut during the second year of production 1896, with serial number 311. Finish worn blued steel frame, lever, trigger, and knurled hammer. Smooth wood Schnabel style front forend and butt stock with crescent metal butt plate. Black wood inlay into the front end of forend. Rear adjustable buckhorn and fixed front blade sight. Comes with archival letter from the Cody Firearms Museum, shipped from warehouse on August of 1896 and returned for repair on October of same year 1896. Antique, ships to MOST buyers home. Condition: Good, with scratches, finish wear/loss, wood dings and handling wear. The rifled bore has very light old spots of rust with visible rifling.
