Description Antique Winchester 1895 chambered in .38-72 W.C.F. with a fixed magazine and a 24″ octagonal barrel. Manufactured during the second year of production 1896, with serial number 1700. Steel frame, lever, trigger, and textured hammer. Smooth wood Schnabel style forend and butt stock with crescent metal butt plate. Rear adjustable buckhorn and fixed front blade sights. The side of the receiver is drilled and tapped and mounted with a Lyman adjustable peep sight. Antique ships directly to home. Condition: Good, Most of the original blue finish has been lost or possibly polished away. The metal parts all show varying amount of handling wear, patina, and metal oxidation. The wood has light scratches, scuffs, and dings. The lettering is still visible and relatively crisp considering the age. The bore has some frost (metal oxidation) to it with good visible rifling.
