Description Winchester model 1885 “Winder Musket” chambered in .22 Short single shot rifle with a 28″ round barrel. U. S. Ordnance marked with flaming bomb. The Winder Musket was a US training rifle designed and named after Colonel C. B. Winder for training and target practice for the Army in the early 20th century until it was replaced by the model 1922 bolt-action rifle. This configuration features a full length musket stock, sling swivels, a smooth metal butt plate, checkered hammer, removable front blade sight, and Lyman rear peep sight. Must ship to C&R or FFL holder. Condition: Good with miscellaneous dings and scratches along the stock, forend, and receiver. 2 cracks on the stock by the tang. Bluing on the barrel browns as it goes along towards the muzzle. Rifled bore is bright and sharp with a small spot of rust a few inches from muzzle, otherwise clean.
