Description Antique Winchester 1873 chambered in .44-40 Winchester with a full length magazine tube and a 24″ Kings Improvement barrel. Manufactured in 1890 with serial number 342235B. Reblued barrel, magazine tube, receiver, loading gate, dust cover, hammer, lever, and trigger. Tang mounted hammer safety. Adjustable rear sight and fixed front blade. Smooth wood forend and straight grip stock with blued metal butt plate. Antique, ships directly to MOST buyers home. Condition: Antique fair with scratches, scuffs, contact marks/dings, and general handling wear on the metal. Refinished with visible buffing marks and metal oxidation under the finish. Scratches and dings on the wood. The wood has been sanded and refinished. The bore is reasonably bright with good visible rifling. The bore does show spots of metal oxidation and small spots of pitting throughout. The action has function issues and needs gunsmith attention. The lever is loose and the internal lever safety does not function correctly. Since the rifle can be fired even when the lever is not fully depressed. As well as the hammer sometimes not fully striking the firing pin when fired, regardless if the lever is fully depressed or not. SOLD AS-IS.
