Smooth wood stock with trap door but plate with its cleaning rod. Adjustable rear ladder style sight and fixed front blade. The top of the trap door is marked “U.S. MODEL 1878”. The side of the lock is marked “U.S. SPRINGFIELD”. The butt plate is marked “U.S.”. “VP” proof mark on the left side of the barrel. Antique ships directly to MOST buyers homes. Condition: Antique Fair/Good with varying light to heavy spots of metal oxidation, pitting, and finish loss on most metal parts. Scratches, scuffs, and dings in the wood.
