Description Rare and desirable Springfield Armory Model of 1911 U.S. Army semi auto pistol chambered in .45. This is one of 27,855 Model 1911 pistols manufactured by Springfield Armory between December 1912 and April 1917. This example dating to 1915 features a “P/H” marked barrel, fixed front blade, flat top notched rear sight, and knurled long hammer, and oil-finished checkered walnut stocks with oversized diamonds surrounding the escutcheons. The right side of slide is marked with the Springfield Eagle and to the right “MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY.” The left side of the slide is roll-stamped with the three-line Colt patent markings on left and to the right “SPRINGFIELD ARMORY/U.S.A.” in two lines followed by an Ordnance (Shell and Flame) insignia rear of the serrations. The top of the slide is stamped “H F D” just rear of the ejection port. The right side of the frame is roll-stamped with the serial number, “No 115272”, rear of the slide stop hole. The left side of the frame is roll-stamped with “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” forward of the trigger and the (Shell and Flame) insignia above the magazine release. The Springfield Armory “S” mark is stamped on the inside of the barrel bushing and the inside of the slide stop. Included is one “R” marked two tone magazine with a two pin base and a US marked leather holster. Ships to FFL/C&R Only. Condition: Overall Good with signs of cleaning and finish wear. There is scattered freckling, scratches, and handling marks. The bore is clean with a slight hint of frosting and strong rifling and the action functions as expected.
