Description WWI era Colt model 1911 semi auto pistol chambered in .45 ACP. This wartime pistol with serial number 229796 and dating to 1918 is marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” on the left side of the frame and bears circle GHS proof just above the magazine release. The left side slide legend reads “PATENTED APR.20,1897.SEPT.9,1902 / DEC.19,1905.FEB.14,1911.AUG.19,1913” along with “COLT’S PT.F.A.MFG.CO. / HARTFORD,CT.U.S.A.” and bears a Rampant Colt emblem rear of the serrations. On the right is stamped “MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY”. The barrel is marked “P / H” on the top of the chamber and the pistol is outfitted with period correct diamond checkered grip panels. Included is one, two-tone magazine with “A” marked floor plate. Ships to FFL/C&R Only. Condition: Very Good showing normal wear from use and handling. There is scattered speckling along with light and scattered surface marks in the finish which shows thinning on the high spots, at the muzzle and on the grip straps.
