Description Wildey-owned Scarce U.S. made Browning BLR chambered in .308 Winchester with one removable metal magazine and a 20″ barrel. This rifle is likely a early production prototype BLR contracted to TRW of Cleveland, Ohio. Most of the rifles were never meant to be sold but a small amount of them have made it to market. The right side of the barrel is marked with serial number “6K01402” and “MADE IN U.S.A PATENT PENDING”. The right side of the barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS CO. ST LOUIS MO 8 MONTREAL PQ”. This rifle features a blued finish with a checkered wood forend and stock with rubber butt pad. Front fixed blade iron sight. The receiver is drilled and tapped and mounted with a Leupold Vari-x III 2.5-8 scope. Must ship to FFL or C&R holder. Condition: Good/Very good with varying scratches and contact marks on the finish and wood. A few light touches of metal oxidation on the barrel, receiver, and lever. Clean rifled bore. Wildey worked in the firearms business since the 1950’s as a gunsmith, Ed Argamonte’s, as a Salesman for Winchester, Stoeger, J.J. Tobler and Forenade Fabrikverken. Eventually setting out on his own to design and create the Wildey Survivor. The Survivor was most famously featured in the classic 1985 Movie Death Wish 3 with Charles Bronson.
