Description Tikka SY Finnish Civil Guard model M28 Mosin Nagant chambered in 7.62x54r with a five round internal magazine and a 27″ barrel. Manufactured between 1930 and 1932 and imported by Marathon, marked on the barrel. Blued barrel, cleaning rod, barrel bands/bayonet lug, hexagon receiver, and magazine. Stainless trigger and bolt with twist knob safety. Drift Adjustable front blade sight with protective ears, and modified Konovalov style Adjustable rear sight. Smooth wood top forend with finger splice and straight stock with blued metal butt plate. Front and rear sling slots. The shank and bolt are serial number matching, but the rest of the parts appear to be mismatched. The top of the barrel shank is marked “D” “SY” and Tikka “T” stamp. The left side of the barrel shank is marked with “KE” Kosti Eakola inspector stamp and Sako gear stamp. [SA] Finnish property stamp meaning this rifle was likely handed over to the regular Army after the civil guard was disbanded. Must ship to a FFL or C&R holder. Condition: Overall good with scratches, sharp edge wear, and general finish wear from handling, operation, and age. Spots of finish loss and patina. Varying spots of metal oxidation. Scratches, scuffs, and dings in the stock. Long thin crack on the left side of the stock. Bright bore with frosting of surface metal oxidation, shows strong visible rifling.
