Description U.S. Springfield Armory M1 Garand (Post War Rebuild) in .30-06 Springfield with a eight round capacity and a 24″ barrel. Smooth wood stock marked on the left side near wrist S.A. G.A.W. (Springfield Armory Inspector George A. Woody) with crossed cannons proof mark (Springfield Armory). George was a Springfield Armory inspector until he left the company in August of 1944 he passed away a few months later, his stamps were used until 1945. Checkered metal butt plate with cleaning kit door, empty. Parkerized trigger guard, trigger, receiver and barrel. Front trigger guard safety. Right side of receiver charging handle. Under barrel fixed bayonet lug. Rear adjustable peep hole and front blade sight. Barrel date marked 11-52 on the barrel under charging handle. P proof marks on the underside of wrist. Springfield Armory crossed cannons proof on the bottom of pistol grip. Receiver serial dates to 1952. Mounted with a nylon shoulder sling. Must ship to a C&R or FFL holder. Condition: Good with light scratches, finish wear/loss, wood dings and handling wear. Clean rifled bore.
