Springfield model 1884 trapdoor rifle chambered in .45-70. This features a 32-5/8″ barrel, fixed hooded front sight and unmarked Buffington rear sight. The barrel is marked “V” / ?P? / Eagle / “P”. The trapdoor is marked “US” / “MODEL” / “1884”. The lock plate reads “U S” / “SPRINGFIELD” adjacent to Eagle. The stock harwood stock is full length with straight grip and musket buttplate with trap. There is a very faint ?SWP / 1891? cartouche on the left wrist and a very faint circle ?P? proof behind the trigger guard tang. Antique, Ships direct to buyers home
