Description Smith & Wesson No 3 First Model American in .44 S&W with a six round capacity and a 6.5″ barrel. Made in Springfield Massachusetts between 1870 and 1874. Checkered composite grip plates. Nickel finished trigger guard, frame, cylinder and barrel. Case colored trigger and knurled hammer. Top rear of barrel located knurled top break lever. Rear notch and front fixed blade sight. Serial number matching on the frame, cylinder face, latch and barrel. Serial number is within the First Model Number 3’s but this guns features are of a No. 3 Second Model American with the larger trigger pin and frame bump and hammer that affixes to the top latch. Antique, No FFL required and ships to MOST buyer home. Condition: Antique, Good with scratches, finish wear/loss, spots of rust/pitting and handling wear.
