Falling block action with functional hammer and trigger. Adjustable rear sight and front blade sight. Smooth wood forend and straight grip stock with metal butt plate. The top of the barrel is marked “NEW MODEL”. The left side of the frame is marked “C.SHARPS PAT SEPT 12TH 1848”. The left side of the fame “C.SHARPS PAT OCT 5TH 1852” and “R.S. LAWRENCE PAT APRIL 12TH 1859”. Antique ships directly to buyers home in MOST states. Condition: Poor with heavy patina and metal oxidation throughout the metal parts. Scratches, scuffs, sharp edge wear, and metal dings/marring. Metal marring under the hammer. The front sight is fairly worn. Missing the saddle ring and bar with the receiver mount being broken. The tang is cracked on either side of the forward screw. Scratches, scuffs, dings, and cracks on the wood. Large chunk of wood missing on the right side of the grip. The bore is fairly bright given the age and condition, shows spots of metal oxidation/pitting. Good visible rifling. SOLD AS-IS.
