Description Mauser ( S/42 ) Model 98 in 8mm with a five round capacity and a 24″ barrel. Made in Germany in 1937. Import marked on the front side of barrel, illegible company except the letters NJ for New Jersey. Metal butt plate. Smooth wood stock and front forend. Blued trigger guard, trigger, receiver, bolt and barrel. Rear bolt safety switch. Rear left side of receiver bolt release. Muzzle end of barrel located fixed bayonet lug. Rear flip up adjustable and front fixed blade sights. Metal loops for mounting a shoulder sling. Metal eyelet stud on the stock for taking apart the bolt. Matching serial numbers on the receiver, barrel, wood stock, front barrel band, magazine floor plate, bolt release lever and underside of flip up sight. The bolt and second barrel band have different serial number, not matching this receiver. Right side of stock has faded white number painted on the side. Must ship to a C&R or FFL holder.
