Mauser Model 98 in 8x57mm with a five round internal capacity and a 24″ barrel. Metal butt plate. Made in Obendorf Am Neckar Germany and imported by “CAI” out of Vermont. Laminated wood stock. Blued receiver, bolt, barrel, magazine floor plate and trigger. Left side of receiver mounted bolt release. Rear of bolt mounted safety switch. Adjustable rear sight and front fixed blade. Front barrel mounted bayonet lug. Comes with leather shoulder strap. The front sight has a unknown attachment that can screw on and off. German Waffenamt marked on the right of receiver with the Nazie proofs and the number “63” under it. This bolt action rifle must ship to a C&R or FFL holder.
Condition: Good/very good with scuffs and scratches throughout. The wood stock has two large sections of damage around the receiver on the left and right side. The front barrel band has metal pitting and heavy wear. The rifled bore has a moderate grain to it.
