Description This lot is for a German and Austrian commercial Mausers in 8mm. First is a commercial Mauser 98 manufactured by Mauser-Werke A.G. Oberndorf A.N. and chambered in 8x57S with a five round internal magazine and a 20″ barrel. Blued finish with wood Monte Carlo style stock. Checkered forend and pistol grip. Turn down bolt handle. Rear flag style safety. Adjustable rear peep sight and beaded front blade. Missing rear mid barrel sight. Double trigger with set trigger. Appears to be serial number matching. The second rifle is a Bohlerstahl Haenel 1888 Commission Mauser chambered in 8x57J with a 25″ barrel. Blued wood finish with checkered pistol grip stock. Front and rear sling swivels. Flip up rear sights and front blade. Turn down bolt handle and rear flag style safety. Double triggers with set trigger. Both sides of the barrel are marked Bohlerstahl. The left side of the receiver ring is marked “2,75 g G B P” over “St. M. g”. The Mauser is modern and must ship to a FFL or C&R holder. The Bohlerstahl is antique and can ship directly to the buyers home, in MOST states. Condition: Good with both rifles showing scratches, contact marks, sharp edge wear, and general cosmetic handling wear. Varying spots of metal oxidation and finish patina. Internal wear from operation. Scratches, scuffs, and dings on the wood. The 1888 has a crack through the wrist. The Mauser has a clean and bright bore with strong visible rifling. The Bohlerstahl has a bright bore with some frosting and spots of metal oxidation, strong visible rifling.
