Manufactured in 1896 with limited production. German silver Rocky Mountain blade front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight, with the 2-line Marlin address and patent dates on the top barrel flat that is nearly polished out, “45-90” behind the rear sight, “-MARLIN SAFETY-” on the top flat of the receiver and “MODEL/1895.” on the upper tang. Smooth straight wrist stock, with a metal forearm tip and a crescent buttplate.
Poor condition. Wood has been refinished with some kind of stain. Several screws have been replaced with ordinary screws. Metal parts have been heavily sanded smooth. Mechanically very good
