This is a Cadet Training Rifle and is marked with a yellow painted band, denoting that the rifle had wear but was still safe to fire. Brass butt plate with cleaning kit door, empty. Smooth wood stock and front forend. Blued trigger guard, serrated trigger, magazine, receiver, bolt and barrel. Rear left side of receiver serrated safety switch. Inside trigger guard located magazine release. Under barrel fixed bayonet lug. Rear flip up adjustable and front fixed blade sight. Metal loops for mounting a shoulder sling. Bottom of wood stock marked: S.L. 2 SL 56. Receiver marked: D up arrow D for the Department of Defense. Right side of receiver marked F.T.R. for “Factory Thorough Repair”. Must ship to a C&R or FFL holder. Condition: Good with scratches, wood dings, rust and finish wear/loss. Metal oxidation on the butt plate. The rifled bore has rust with strong rifling.
