Description Lithgow Small Arms Factory Enfield SHTLE III ( Drill Purpose Rifle ) in .303 British with one, ten round removable magazine and a 25″ barrel. The left side of the receiver has an illegible Import mark. Made in Australia in 1919. Brass butt plate with cleaning kit door, empty. Smooth wood stock and front forend. Blued trigger guard, serrated trigger, receiver bolt and barrel. Inside trigger guard serrated magazine release. Rear left side of receiver safety switch. Under barrel fixed bayonet lug. Rear flip up adjustable and front fixed blade sight. Metal loops for mounting a shoulder sling. Matching serial number on receiver, bolt, underside of sight and front nose cap. The rifle is marked DP for Drill Purpose, which consisted of the firing pin being welded shut. This rifle will NOT FIRE with its current bolt configuration. Military proof on the stock and a name carved into the left wrist: Eileen. Must ship to a C&R or FFL holder. Condition: Good with scratches, deeper wood dings/pitting, finish wear/loss and a carved name on the left side of wrist: EILEEN. Firing pin is welded shut on the bolt. Clean rifle bore.
