Absolutely stunning Winchester model 12 features a well documented and executed panel scene with fine scroll engraving from one of the most famous and desired American master engravers Rudolph Kornbrath. Manufactured in 1928. Front Ivory bead sight and silver middle bead on the deep gloss 30″ vent rib “Nickel Steel” barrel. Includes typical markings and proofs and marked “FULL” choke. The receiver is engraved with highly detailed scene of pheasants on the right and a bird dog on the left. The birds and dogs are surrounded by wedges of tight leafy scroll work with heavily detailed, shaded, backgrounds. The receiver is marked/signed “Engraved by Rudolph Kornbrath” on left panel in window with dog engraving. Marked “TRAP” under the serial number. The trigger guard is engraved to match. Expertly checkered forearm with free form carved accents and Monte Carlo stock with matching blue steel grip cap and solid black rubber Pacmayr recoil pad. * C&R Eligible Condition: Excellent as expertly engraved by Kornbrath, and refinished accordingly. 98% bright polished blue finish remains with some rub marks on the underside of the barrel from cycling and one tiny spot of blue loss on the rib. Bolt has cycling wear on the jeweled side. The wood is excellent and free of distractions with only some handling scratches and faint crackling of the clear coat, consistent with age. Mechanically tight, crisp, and overall excellent.
