Description World War 2 Johnson Automatic Model of 1941 chambered in .30-06 Springfield with a ten round rotary magazine and a 22″ barrel with bayonet lug. Manufactured in 1941 with A prefix serial number A2233. Short recoil operated rifle with recoiling barrel and rotating bolt. Parkerized finish with billet forged steel receiver and sheet steel ventilated upper handguard. Small rotating knob cocking handle on the right side of the rifle. Rotating safety placed forward of the trigger guard. Adjustable rear aperture sight and front post sight with protective ears. Smooth wood forend and pistol grip stock with checkered metal butt plate. The top of the receiver is marked “U.S. PATENT NOS. 2,094.156-2.146/43 2.161.131-2.215.470 AND OTHER U.S. AND FOREIGN PATS. AND PATS. PENDING CAL .30-06 SEMI AUTO “JOHNSON AUTOMATICS” MODEL OF 1941 MADE IN PROVIDENCE, R.I.,U.S.A. A2233″. The rear right side of the receiver is marked with Cranston Arms Co inside of triangle with star marking above. Comes with the Johnson 1941 spike bayonet made of billet steel and with its leather sheath. The blade is 11 3/4″ and the sheath is 13 3/4″. The back of the sheath is carved with 412361. Must ship to a FFL or C&R holder. Condition: Good/Very good with some scratches, contact marks, and general cosmetic handling wear. Much of the finish is still visible but patinated and discolored form age and storage. Some spots of metal oxidation. Some scratches and dings in the wood. There is a small chip in the stock on the left side of the tang. Bright and clean bore with strong visible rifling. The bayonet shows contact marks, finish patina, and small spots of metal oxidation. The leather sheath has some creases, scratches, and discoloration. The brass rivets have green oxidation.
