Designed for commercial water fowl hunting, this behemoth sports a 42″ barrel with a brass bead front sight. Top of barrel is marked ” HOLLAND & HOLLAND 98 NEW BOND ST LONDON”. Side of receiver is marked “CLIMAX HAMMERLESS / PATENT”. Water table and barrel flats have typical English proofs. Uses 4″ brass shells to fire. Has a scalloped box lock on left side with side plate on right. Tang safety and a flip up front sight. Even as a commercial work horse, Holland & Holland still manages to place fine touches of elegance with horn tipped foregrip, styled take down lever and finely checkered pistol grip wood stock. Class: ANTIQUE Condition: Very good overall. Barrel has turned to a pleasant blue/brown patina. Receiver has lost most of its plating and grey steel is revealed. Wood has shrunken away from frame due to age and size, causing a lip from metal to stock. Wood furniture has only casual handling / storage marks, no major dings or flaws. Lock up and function is excellent.
