Description World War II Third Reich Era jhv 44 G98/40 chambered in 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser) with a five round internal magazine and a 24″ barrel. Manufactured in 1944 with serial number 2328m. Manufactured in the Hungarian FEG factory under German occupation with code jhv, Imported by C.A.I., marked on the left side of the barrel ring. Front bayonet lug. Adjustable rear tangent sight and fixed front blade. Rear flag style bolt safety. Blued finish with wood top forend and straight stock. Metal butt plate. Front and rear sling mounts. Third Reich Eagle over 473 marked on the stock of the receiver ring. “jhv 44” Also stamped on the top of the receiver ring. Third Reich Eagle on the left side of the receiver and barrel. The right side of the receiver is marked “G98/40”. All external visible serial numbers appear to be matching. Must ship to a FFL or C&R holder. Condition: Good/Very good with most of the finish being thinned or in the white. Some spots of patina. Normal scratches, edge wear, and general cosmetic handling wear. Normal wear on the operational parts from use. The stock appears to have been sanded and refinished at some point. Bright and clean bore with strong bore.
