Description Colt Model 1900 chambered in .38 Colt with one removable magazine and a 6″ barrel. This Colt shipped in the first year of production on June 7th 1900 and holds a two digit serial number of 49. Blued frame, serrated slide, and barrel. Fire blued trigger. Smooth wood stocks. Fixed iron sights. The right side of the slide reads “AUTOMATIC COLT CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS”. The left side of the slide reads “Browning’s Patent PAT’D APRIL 20.1897 ” – “COLT’S PATENT FIRE ARMS MFG. CO. HARTFORD. CONN. U.S.A.”. The Rampant Colt log is marked on the rear of the left side of the slide. The bottom of the magazine is marked “PAT’D SEPT.9.1884”. Comes with a Colt historical letter. Must ship to FFL or C&R holder. Condition: Fair due to the cosmetic wear only. The finish shows some scratches, contact marks, and high edge wear. The external finish also shows heavy splotches of metal oxidation and patina across most of the external metal parts, but mainly on the frame and slide. The writing and markings are still visible and relatively crisp considering the age of this pistol, but is some what covered by the spots of metal oxidation. The writing is still legible when looked at up close. The grips are in solid shape with cosmetic wear such as scratches, dings and patina. The internals of this pistol appear to be in great shape show a low amount wear. The barrel its self retains most of its bluing with most of the finish loss being in the contact spots when being operated. Appears to function as expected with the slide, hammer, and trigger being fairly smooth considering the age. Light speckling of rust in the bore with good visible rifling.
