Description Colt/J.P. Sauer & Sohn Sporting Rifle in .300 Winchester Magnum with a four round removable magazine and a 23.5″ barrel. This rifle was returned to the Colt factory and the receiver and barrel were stored in the Colt Engineering Vault. In June of 2016 the barrel, and receiver were included in a special sale to Colt employees and was purchased by Colts Chief engineer at the time. He installed a Circa 1973 Colt Sauer .300 Win Mag stock that also came from the Engineering Vault. This information and more is documented in the included Colt historical letter. This rifle features a textured rubber recoil pad. Checkered Monte Carlo style wood stock and front forend. Blued trigger guard, serrated trigger, receiver, bolt handle and barrel. Magwell located serrated magazine release. Rear receiver tang serrated slide button safety. No fixed sights. Receiver is drilled and tapped for mounting optics. Must ship to a C&R or FFL holder. Condition: Good/Very Good with scratches, muzzle wear and a small crack in the stock on the left side where the barrel meets receiver. Clean rifled bore.
