Description Pre World War II Colt Government model semi auto pistol chambered in .45 caliber with one seven round removable magazine and a 5″ barrel. Dating to 1919 this example features a polished chamber marked “P” forward of the lug, long smooth trigger, wide checkered hammer, heart shape grip frame, checkered slide catch, safety, and magazine catch, smooth flat mainspring housing with a lanyard loop, diamond pattern checkered grips and an unmarked two-tone magazine with a two pin base. The left side of the slide is roll marked with a two-line, two-block address/patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt logo and the “COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE 45” on the right. The left side of the trigger guard is stamped “VP” and “5” and the right is stamped “C”. The right side of the frame is stamped GEVERNMENT MODEL” over the serial number “C118978”. Ships to FFLC&R Only. Condition: Overall Very Good with finish loss on the high points and more substantially on the front and rear grip areas. There are a few scattered marks from handling. The bore is clean with just a slight hint of frosting and strong rifling and the action functions as expected.
