Description Colt Detective Special in .38 Special with a six round capacity and a 2″ barrel. Made in Hartford Connecticut in 1973. This revolver was once owned by Gary W. French who was the President of Colt from 1981-1989. This revolver was given to him as a gift from the World Famous Competitive Shooting Legend Ret U.S. Army Sgt Major William B. Blankenship Jr. Comes with the letter from 1989 in which William gave it to Gary as a gift. Checkered wood grip plates. Nickel finished trigger, hammer, frame, cylinder and barrel. Left side of frame cylinder release. Rear notch and front fixed blade sight. Comes in a factory box with written serial number on the bottom of box alongside another non-matching serial number, serial number on the side of box is non matching, warranty card and letter from William B Blankenship. Must ship to a C&R or FFL holder. Condition: Excellent with light scuffs and handling wear. Clean rifled bore.
