This 3rd model variation identified by the rounded trigger guard is one of the 10,500 Dragoons manufactured between 1851 and 1861. This example with serial number 18620 and manufactured in 1860 is one of about 800 3rd pattern revolvers manufactured with the rare 8″ barrel length outfitted with a silver blade front sight, The top of the barrel is marked “ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY”, remnants of the cylinder scene are still visible, the frame is marked “COLTS / PATENT”, and all parts are marked with matching serial numbers. Antique and ships direct to buyer. Condition: Good showing a mottled gray patina, mild pitting, and scattered light nicks and scratches. The grips show moderate scrapes and dings along with an older repair to the left panel. The action functions properly and the lockup is quite tight for the age.
