Early Japanese Arisaka Type 99 Series “5” model of 1939 in 7.7mm with a five round internal capacity and a 26″ barrel. This rifle was a “Surrender Weapon” of WW2 having the receiver proof of a “Chrysanthemum” ground off. The metal butt plate is in fair condition with moderate wear and metal oxidation. The wood stock is in fair condition with heavy handling wear, scratches, chips, dings and a line spiced through the butt stock. The “Cock on Closing Action” bolt and receiver are in good condition with touches of metal oxidation and finish wear throughout. The bolt has a factory dust shield in good condition with metal oxidation. The trigger/guard are in good condition with light metal oxidation. The magazine floor plate is in good condition with light pitting and metal oxidation. The barrel is in good condition with touches of metal oxidation. The rifle is mounted with anti-aircraft sights with lead arms, one arm is missing. The rifle from factory is mounted on the front fore end with a wire “Monopod” in very good functioning condition. The rifle comes with its original leather shoulder strap in poor condition heavy wear and very old. This strap is full Kanji characters on the inside. The bolt action is tight, with a crisp trigger pull. The rifled bore has a grain to it. This rifle is C&R eligible. Second listing.
