Description Marlin Model 1889 chambered in .44-40 Winchester with a tubular magazine and a 22″ round barrel. Manufactured in 1892 with serial number 79430. Re Blued barrel, magazine tube, frame, loading gate, hammer, trigger, and square lever. Rear notch and fixed front blade iron sights. Smooth wood forend and straight grip stock with blued crescent butt plate. The top of the barrel is marked “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO., NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. PATENTED OVT. 11. 1887 APRIL.2 . 1889.”. The top of the frame is marked “MARLIN SAFETY”. Antique, ships directly to MOST buyers homes. Condition: Antique good having been reblued with visual buffing marks and wear under the finish. The marks are still visible but faded from being buffed. General scratches, contact marks, and handling wear. Spots of finish loss/thinning. Spots of metal oxidation and finish patina. Scratches, scuffs, dings, and flaking finish on the wood. The bore has spots of rust and pitting, the rifling is still visible strong considering the age.
