Under lever Hammer, Manufactured between 1885 – 1895, this exceptional double rifle features Damascus barrels chambered .500/450 Magnum BPE. Blade front with a fold up express sight. Rear has one fixed and one folding rear leaf sights on the matte solid rib. On top tang is also and original adjustable flip up peep sight. The top of the rib is marked “ALEXR HENRY EDINBURGH AND LONDON PATENT No 3114. FIRST QUALITY” The flats are marked with the serial number, “AH” and British crown over “V” and “GP” proofs, and Henry patent information. Sling eye mounted on the underside. The barrels are brown Damascus pattern and the receiver/lock/ and other metal components are casehardened. The frame, locks, hammers, break lever and forearm hardware are lightly engraved with tight scroll borders. Locks is marked “ALEXR HENRY” in a banner. The break lever is mounted on the underside of the frame. Diamond checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip stock featuring a cheek piece and sling eye. Engraved metal grip cap with compartment storing a spare firing pin. Rubber recoil pad appears to be a recent addition and is professionally fitted. Includes in a leather bound case, Alexander Henry label and cartridge information label affixed to the inside of the lid. Antique, No FFL required
Condition: Antique Excellent, Barrels retain a high majority of their original bronze finished Damascus color. Case coloring is a very muted grey but appreciable. Wood looks original and may have been lightly sanded/cleaned. Recoil pad is a late addition. Mechanically excellent. Bores are mirror bright and rifling is excellent. Case is weathered.
