Description U.S. Property marked World War 2 Ithaca 1911A1 chambered in .45 ACP with one, seven round unmarked magazine and a 5″ barrel. Manufactured in 1943 with serial number 862428. Parkerized steel frame with heart shaped grip openings. This frame is a vintage World War I frame likely manufactured by Colt and sent to Ithaca by Springfield Armory. Ithaca then added finger clearance cuts and markings. Likely one of the 6,200 frame sent by Springfield and serialized between 856405 to 870000. The right side of the frame is stamped with SA Cross cannons, “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” No 862928″ “M 1911 A1 U.S.ARMY”. The right side of the trigger guard is marked “4”. The left side of the frame is marked with “FJA” Frank J. Atwood Inspectors mark, and “P” proof under the magazine release. The top of the frame forward of the hammer is marked with an “H” over “G”. Late Remington Rand 8 rib mainspring housing. Colt wide-spur short hammer. Checkered plastic grips. Parkerized Ithaca stamped slide with “P” proof on the top, and fixed iron sights. The right side of the barrel is stamped [C], and the left side is marked with “P” and “M”. The top of the barrel is stamped .45 AUTO 7791193. Must ship to a FFL or C&R holder. Condition: Good/Very good with general scratches, scuffs, and normal handling wear. Normal finish patina as well as some loss on the sharp edges, contact points, and moving/internal parts.
