Description Colt Model 1911 “Black Army” chambered in .45 ACP with one, seven round two-tone unmarked magazine and a 5″ Colt barrel. Manufactured in 1918 and shipped in 1919 with serial number 577708. Blued steel frame with heart shaped grip opening. Smooth flat main spring housing. Solid single action trigger and long hammer with rounded rear edge. Frame mounted manual thumb safety and grip depression safety. The left side of the frame is marked with Eagles Head inspection mark with S18. The left side of the trigger guard is marked “41”. The right side of the frame is marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” over “No577708”. “HP” inspection mark above and “G” production order below the disconnector hole on the frame. Checkered walnut double diamond stocks. Blued serrated Colt slide. The left side of the slide has the two line date and patent with Rampant Colt in-between. The right side of the slide is marked “MODEL OF U.S.ARMY”. Fixed iron sights. The inside of the slide is marked with a “G” and other small proofs. The top of the barrel is marked “HP”. Comes with a leather holster stamped “US” and “7K6” on the flap. The rear of the holster is marked “CAMBELL 1917 R.J.M.”. The belt frog is marked “O.M.C. JEFF.”, (illegible date), “H.E.K.”, and “J.F.”. Must ship to a FFL or C&R holder. Condition: Good with scratches, sharp edge wear, and cosmetic handling wear. Much of the finish is thinned/patinated. Spots of metal oxidation and pitting. Light wear on the internals/moving parts from normal operation. Darkening on the grips with some scratches and wear on the checkering. Small gouge on the right grip. Overall the grips are in solid shape. Bright and clean bore with strong visible rifling.
