Description First Generation Colt Single Action Army chambered in .44-40 Winchester with a six-shot cylinder and a 4 3/4″ barrel. Manufactured in 1906 with serial number 287689. In the white steel finish with hard rubber Rampant Colt grips. Rear notch and coin front blade. The frame, trigger guard frame, butt, and loading gate are serial number matching. Must ship to a FFL or C&R holder. Condition: Fair exhibiting heavy wear and signs of use. The finish is almost completely in the white with signs of being refinished at some point in its life. Buffing marks and faded stampings. Spots and patches of metal oxidation of varying age, color, and size. The ejector rod housing is a little loose. The grips have a repair on the inside, post repair the grips are solid. The checkering and edges of the grips are very worn with some scratches as well. The original front sight has been removed and replaced with a polished half of a coin. The bore is decent, it is pretty bright, but does show spots of metal oxidation throughout. The rifling is fairly strong especially considering the age. Whether this pistol can be safely fired is unknown, but the action does appear to function as expected and is well broken in.
