A very good example of a late trapdoor single shot rifle. 32.6″ barrel chambered in .45-70. Notable model for its Buffington rear sight. Trapdoor mechanism allowed soldier to breech load a single metallic cartridge vs muzzle loading. Appropriately marked and matching proofs on metal components. Inspection marks on wood are missing. Missing cleaning rod. Antique, Ships direct to buyers home

Condition: Antique Very Fine. Barrel and lock are in excellent original condition and nicely preserved. Biggest detractor is the sanded stock, but it is crack free and whole. Mechanically excellent.
