Description Enfield Model 1853 pattern cavalry saddle ring carbine lock and stock with a cut-down 21″ smooth bore musket barrel having Crown, V.R. and 2P Proof Marks. Measuring in at 17.20mm at the bore. Brass butt plate (remains of illegible mark) and unmarked brass trigger guard. Untextured trigger and checkered hammer. Replaced Rear flip up and front fixed blade sight. Barrel Bands marked “WD Crown E” Left side of stock located saddle ring loop. Lock marked V.R. Crown, 1863 Enfield with Crown arrow and “9” Stock bears Enfield Armory mark. Under barrel affixed ramrod with British proof marks (from pistol?) Metal loops to mount a shoulder sling. This is a US solider bring back (War Trophy) from Afghanistan in 2008. Comes with Original Signed Customs Affidavit from the US Airfield at Bagram. Consignor reports that this guns was being used to fire against US Troops immediately prior to it’s capture. This Gun was brought back together with the next lot in the catalog.
